Guidelines and policies for students, faculty and staff at Westfort College of Pharmacy
The academic rules and regulations have been established to ensure a productive and effective learning environment at Westfort College of Pharmacy. These guidelines help maintain high academic standards and promote educational excellence.
Students are required to maintain a minimum of 80% attendance in theory classes and 90% in practical sessions for each subject. Failure to meet these requirements may result in the student being detained from appearing for the semester examinations. Medical leave will be granted only upon submission of a valid medical certificate within three days of returning to college.
The college follows a continuous assessment system with internal tests, assignments, and semester examinations. Students must obtain a minimum of 40% marks in internal assessments and 40% in semester examinations separately to pass a subject. Re-examinations are conducted for students who fail to secure the minimum required marks.
A student can progress to the next academic year only if they have cleared at least 50% of the subjects from the current year. Students with more than three backlog subjects will not be promoted to the next academic year. A maximum of two attempts are allowed for clearing backlog subjects.
The college follows a structured academic calendar with two semesters per year. Each semester consists of a minimum of 90 working days. The academic calendar outlines important dates for classes, examinations, holidays, and events, and is made available to all students at the beginning of the academic year.
Students are required to complete a minimum of 150 hours of practical training in a pharmaceutical industry or hospital pharmacy as part of their curriculum. The training must be completed during the designated periods as specified in the academic calendar. Students must submit a training report and present their experience upon completion.
The rules and regulations outlined above are subject to change at the discretion of the college administration. Students are advised to check the official notice board and college website regularly for any updates or amendments. Ignorance of rules will not be accepted as an excuse for non-compliance.
